Perfect Video Setup?

I’m curious about your setup for video calls.
- Which camera are you using? External or from your laptop?
- Do you have special lighting? Front- and/or back-lighting?
- Microphone/sound?
- Anything I missed?
I’m trying to work out a proper setup for my video calls - after being one year in my home office ๐ - and just researching how to improve it.
Audio
With my audio - currently using a Jabra Speak 510 - I’m quite satisfied. The sound as well as the microphone is good enough and I didn’t get any complaints from my counterparts so far. It’s pleasant to not wear anything all day long and it looks better than having over-ear headphones ๐
Video
For video I definitely need an improvement as right now I’m still using my laptop camera. Which means I always need to put my laptop on some books/shelf to get it to my eye-level.
I’m considering getting a Logitech C920S as an external camera. It has proper ratings and is in a acceptable price range. External camera also means improving the image quality and also solves the issue of being on eye-level automatically.
Lighting
I watched a few videos but didn’t find the perfect solution yet. Our current flat is usually quite bright but if it’s e.g. cloudy + winter + after 4 pm it’s not too bright. So some external light would definitley improve the video quality.
