Monthly Portfolio Update 📈 June 2021
Monthly Portfolio Update June 2021 was a completely boring month - just as I like it. My savings plan got executed (2x1k€ as usually) and I got some dividend from my FTSE All-World ETF (37.39€ after taxes). Measure Entire Portfolio ETFs Stocks Cryptos Cash IRR 50.48% 61.57% 421.54% -83.11% 0.08% TTWROR 3.27% 3.88% 14.02% -13.18% 0.01%
Monthly Portfolio Update 📈 May 2021
A slightly belated post for my monthly series about my portfolio update. To objective is to show what happened and to help me track the history of my portfolio. Monthly Portfolio Update May was the exact opposite of April. Crpyto plumbed compared to the previous run and some are fearing the start of a bear market. But I got somehow lucky with market timing and sold a minor part of the crypto beginning of May.
Monthly Portfolio Update 📈 Apr 2021
A slightly belated post for my monthly series about my portfolio update. To objective is to show what happened and to help me track the history of my portfolio. Monthly Portfolio Update Crypto skyrocketed in April again and continued the bull run. I didn’t do anything in my portfolio except executing my savings plan on the Vanguard All World ETF as usual. Measure Entire Portfolio ETFs Stocks Cryptos Cash IRR 30.
Monthly Portfolio Update 📈 Mar 2021
Third post in my monthly series about my portfolio update. To objective is to show what happened and to help me track the history of my portfolio. Monthly Portfolio Update Compared to the previous month it felt stable. My overall portfolio grew slightly which was mostly driven by the ETF part. I also received the first dividend from my new Vanguard All World ETF: 12,5€ gross for Q1 2021, so after taxes slightly above 9€ as a start.
141km 🏃 in March 2021
In March I was making progress towards my goal of getting close to a 5:00 min/km pace for the 10km distance, as my average pace in March moved down to 5:50 min/km whereas it was closer to 6:00 min/km in February and January. As you also see in the table my average distance is converting to 10km per run and thus the average time is around 55min. I’m missing the longer runs on the weekend a bit.
Could I work async?
The next frontier after remote work is async Pieter Levels - an indie maker who’s known for Nomad List or MAKE - the bootstrapper’s handbook - just recently wrote about working async. ➗ I'm starting to notice a divide between people that work async vs not 😙 Async ppl can book fun activities throughout the week and get the lowest prices for hotels, restaurants, etc 😤 Sync people are stuck w/ the weekend and pay the highest prices for overcrowded venues
Perfect Flat
On Friday it seemed we found the perfect flat. The flat came online Friday in the afternoon and we saw it around 8 o’clock in the evening. >75m² & <1.000€ per month 3 Rooms with a small balcony Silent street within a central district within Vienna (1030) First occupancy/ freshly renovated within an old Jugendstil building with a beautiful facade We tried to act quickly and attempted to contact the real estate agent over the weekend and eventually reached her Monday morning.
Savings Rate
1.5 months ago I wrote about my salary and it’s growth over time. Growing your income is one side of gaining traction for your portfolio, increasing your savings rate is the other side to grow your assets over time. I already gave a sneak-preview to my path to 100k and today I’d like to detail it a bit more. The following table shows my savings rate per year, my cumulated savings (so each year + previous years) and the corresponding portfolio value at the end of each year (on 31st of December).
Hiatus
I took a short break from my daily writing. It helped me to rethink what I’m trying to achieve with my blog. And I’m now certain that I’ll move to a more irregular schedule. I missed writing during this hiatus of one week, but I want to get rid of the burden to publish something every day.
